IKEA, known for affordability, modern designs, and flat packs. One thing they’ve always lacked however is a collection of furniture specifically designed for pets, but IKEA aims to change all of that with its new range called Lurvig. What’s a lurvig? It’s the Swedish word for “hairy” or “shaggy” – quite fitting ey?
Remember in 2015, IKEA rolled out vegan meatballs in Australia – much to the delight of vegans and non vegans alike. In 2016, IKEA introduced “dog parking spots”, spaces made for you to leave your pup instead of leaving them in hot cars where they can quickly overheat and maybe even die. We’ve also known the brand is pet-friendly for some time, with a few simple hacks transforming IKEA products into animal-friendly wonderlands.
The best thing is that the pieces aren’t an eyesore, so it can blend in seamlessly with the rest of your decor. Just take a look yourself!
It’s not yet out in Australian stores however if you’re desperately seeking something to scratch that pet furniture itch and you happen to like DIY, check out IKEAHackers. We particularly love this Wall mounted KALLAX cat house which can easily also work for a small dog.
The pet furniture range seems pretty extensive with almost everything you’ll need to keep your furry friend (and you) happy. From beds to leashes to bowls to couch covers. The collection is rolling out in stores across the US, Canada, France and Japan first. But as for us we need to wait till March 2018.
