For an ageing pooch like Pez feeding her a nutritious and balanced diet, providing her with mental stimulation, and encouraging exercise are essential. Over the past year we’ve seen an influx of natural supplements appearing on the in dog care, encouraging us dog owners to improve the health and wellbeing of our furry little friends. One such supplement is Rose-Hip Vital Canine. We recently gave it a spin on our resident office pooch Pez and here’s what we learnt …
- Rose-Hip Vital Canine is made from 100% pure and natural rose-hip fruit with no additives.
- Rose-hip is also known to contain one of nature’s most natural sources of Vitamin C.

- Helps reduce inflammation, joint damage, pain and stiffness.
- Can reduce need for traditional pain killers that can have unwanted side effects.
- It comes with handy scoop to ensure exact dosage.
- It is a powder that easily mixes into food and is appetising to dogs. Dosages are available here.
Natural and Effective
Approved by the APVMA, Rose-Hip Vital Canine is 100% natural, plant-based product. It has had 30 research studies conducted on it to determine its effects on dogs. The studies showed dogs taking it have had improvements within 3 weeks. Working as a strong anti-oxidant, this product has anti-inflammatory properties but also has shown improvements in the dog’s mood and even speed.
Ideal for Older Dogs
As our pets become more and more part of our family, it’s become prevalent that we target their healthcare as we do our own. Older dogs typically have to cope with the pain and stiffness of arthritis. Rose-Hip Vital Canine can help with this and other inflammatory conditions in dogs – the same way that it does with humans. Rose-hip, however, is not just for dog with physical problems. It can also help with coat condition and general behaviour. Active dogs commonly use it as it acts as a great supplement for a healthy dog’s immune system and joint health, helping prevent future problems.
What we loved
We trialled Rose-Hip Vital Canine on Pez over the past 4 weeks. Pez is an 8 year old Chihuahua, who recently lost her housemate/best friend ‘Little’ who passed away from old age. Pez had been showing early symptoms of arthritis and general apathy (possibly due to her loss) – Pez was indeed the perfect candidate! She had recently stopped showing interest in toys; often held up one leg as she walks; and more often then not refused run and walk during our daily trips to the park.
Mixing a small amount into her food on a daily basis, Pez ate it up every time. During her time on Rose-Hip Vital Canine Pez began to show more interest in her toys. She began to spend more time chasing the other dogs at the park when she would previously watch. She now shows greater energy levels and comes home tired after the park – which means more afternoon naps!
